On December 14, 2015, the CERT canteen was activated for a working fire at 10100 NW 35th Street.
A fire was reported in an apartment building on 35th Street. Chief Babinec was first on scene and reported smoke and flames showing from a second floor apartment. He declared a working fire. Just prior to our arrival he requested a second alarm assignment. Units responded from Coral Springs-Parkland, Margate-Coconut Creek, North Lauderdale, Tamarac, and Pompano Beach.
Thank you to the four CERT members who were able to respond to the scene. Also, thanks to Margate CERT for their mutual aid response to assist us with this fire. The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
