Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety
The September meeting will be a review of our basic training skills of fire suppression and cribbing. We will do some fun classroom review of fire and hazmat material and cribbing and then we will do some hands on practice of fire suppression. The plan, weather and logistically permitting, is to practice on real fire out in the yard. Our backup plan is to have a friendly fire suppression competition with our Bullex simulator in the classroom. Please be in proper uniform including closed toe shoes and bring basic PPE including eye protection (required), gloves and helmet.

Serenity Funeral Home
On Friday, September 21, visitation will be held at the Serenity Funeral Home, 1450 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. This will be open to family, fire department personnel, police department personnel, CERT, and elected officials. CERT has been asked to help direct people to the appropriate parking areas around the funeral home, and provide hydration as needed. The detail begins at 17:00 and the visitation hours are from 18:00 to 20:00. You are NOT required to (but certainly are welcome to) attend the visitation if you would like to help. Many functions will be outside the funeral home, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church
On Saturday, September 22, the funeral will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1401 Coral Ridge Drive. CERT members have been requested to be at the church at 10:00 to help direct the placement of fire apparatus and other vehicles. This should be complete by 11:00. Members are welcome to attend the funeral mass, but again NOT required.

Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery
On Saturday, September 22, the burial will take place at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. Again, CERT members have been requested to assist with the placement of fire apparatus and other vehicles in the parking lot by the funeral home and church on site. There is a gate between the church parking lot and the cemetery. The burial plot is only a couple hundred feet from the gate. CERT members are requested to be at the cemetery parking assignment around 12:30, depending on the length of the mass and funeral procession. If you attend the funeral mass, you will need to leave immediately at the conclusion of the mass in order to arrive at the cemetery on time.
